Xcolor™ Expanded Gamut Separations for Flexible Packaging

Expand your color gamut – and your client list.

Big brands want big color. Expanded gamut printing provides the color they want with the versatility they need for running regional and seasonal promotions.

Less Changeover & Reduced Ink Inventory

Expanded or extended color gamut printing uses the same ink set for every run– CMYKOGV, or cyan, magenta, yellow and black, plus orange, green and violet. No more partial buckets of that one custom color waiting around for the next order.

Better Solids

EG separations for flexographic printing use 2 to 3 colors to build a “solid” that would typically be printed with a spot color, so pinholing effects are reduced.

Wider Color Gamut

A fixed color palette on press doesn’t limit your capabilities – it provides you with the opportunity to boost color. Most of the Pantone library is reproducible in EG printing, and the three additional process inks extend your process gamut, too.

Cost-Effective Short Runs

Flavor variations, seasonal and regional promotions can be ganged more easily, and the 7 color process still leaves a few open stations for metallics or other special inks.
